Executive Lifestyles: Taking It to the Air

The private jet soars beyond business needs
Renting a private charter jet in the past has mostly been reserved for getting to business meetings without having to waste time in airport lounges. Shelling out a few more dollars (well, a few thousand more, to be more exact) does give you extra time that could be used to engage in lighter conversation with your colleagues before or following tough negotiations. If these jet services can be used to give busy executives more time in a business setting, is it any wonder that many are beginning to put this concept to use for transporting themselves to their pleasure destinations, as well. In fact, according to the Fine Living channel's show The MANual, the term "business jet" is now used to describe any private jet rental, whether the purpose is business or pleasure.
Whether your destination is to a one-week getaway in Wyoming or an afternoon at Neyland Stadium, your leisure time is precious, regardless of its length. And a tool used by many businesspeople to maximize work time could very well be used by the vacationing execs to maximize time in general.
Several factors make chartering a private flight for your personal time worth every penny. In order to fly via commercial airline in Tennessee, you have to drive to one of five commercial airports in the state, which could mean a few hours’ drive for some residents. In addition, commercial airlines can only take you to and from about 600 commercial airports. Charter business aircrafts have access to any of over 5,800 U.S. airports, allowing you to be picked up at the nearest local air field and then dropped off at any remote location of your choice. Depending on the size of the charter jet company, you will have several aircraft options to choose from for your air ride.
Your choice of aircraft is not the only set of choices you can make regarding your flight. During your air travel, your meal choice is not limited to just peanuts and pretzels. Charter jet services will personalize the in-flight snacks and beverages to your preference. And unlike commercial flights, you are also in charge of the departure times. If you decide you want to spend a few more hours on the ski slopes or if the football game you're attending goes into overtime, you can simply call the charter service and let them know to alter the schedule. (Generally, a notice one hour prior to the departure time is requested.)
In the charter jet business, there are no standby ticket procedure or long counter lines. In place of them, Morristown-based Alpha Aviations can double as your travel agent; its charter concierge service can arrange car rental and hotel reservations.
Corporate Flight Management of Smyrna likes to call its service “On-demand charter,” because it truly gives you control of your vacation itinerary, enabling you to fly when you choose. You already spend your work time exhausted from deadlines, meetings and long hours in office. Your well-earned vacation time shouldn't be spent experiencing similar hassles trying to get to the airport on time or trapped for hours idling at the airport.
